I have always had a special thing for the song Young Turks by Rod Stewart. It was always hard to find on the jukebox because of the weird name. Weird because he doesn't say “Young Turks” in the song. The name as heard in the chorus would be "Young Hearts Be Free Tonight", or just "Young Hearts". But he doesn't, he calls it Young Turks, which is creative. Google says that in general terms a Young Turk refers to "a young person who is impatient to bring about radical change, someone who has revolutionary, new ideas and is impatient to implement them". In the song, two teenagers run away together because they feel like they are missing out on something and their parents don't listen to them. In the climax of the song, "Patti gives birth to a 10 lb baby boy". That line always makes me cry. Even before I had kids it did. See it's creative because the kids aren't revolutionary at all, but they think they are. My mom was Rod Stewart’s bartender once, in the 80s. She came home with his autograph on a bar menu, written to my brother and I. It only adds to the thing.
